Technology in the field
In forestry operations, much depends on how accurately we understand the terrain, how we organize the work, and which tools we choose. At Alias Forest, we complement more than two decades of hands-on field experience with modern technologies. We use drone-based surveying, digital tools, modern machinery, and robotic technology. Drones provide a more detailed view of the work area, while the data collected in the field can support everything from planning to subsequent operations. We primarily use robotic technology on larger areas. The robot moves autonomously across programmed terrain and can create up to four planting holes simultaneously, while GPS records the exact location of the work. This means the technology not only supports field operations, but also provides valuable data for subsequent stages of the work. Technology is not an end in itself for us. We use what genuinely makes the work more precise, efficient, or transparent for the site in question. From our nursery through site surveying and preparation to afforestation, we carry out multiple stages of the work with our own team and equipment. This allows us to coordinate the different parts of a project more effectively, with less reliance on external coordination and a more transparent workflow. Experience provides the foundation. Technology adds new possibilities.
