Accredited nursery
Many factors influence the success of an afforestation project, but one of the most important decisions is made right at the beginning: which seedlings go into the ground. We support this decision with our own nursery, documented provenance, and decades of forestry experience. We know the seedlings we provide. We grow our forest seedlings in our own nursery from seed of documented and controlled provenance. Their origin can be traced through official provenance documentation, and we continuously monitor their development from sowing onwards. During containerized cultivation, we pay particular attention to root development. Our automated irrigation system allows us to adjust water supply to the different stages of seedling development. It’s not just about cultivation. The period leading up to planting matters too. Different tree species require different handling. Broadleaf species and larch are stored in refrigerated chambers, while conifers are overwintered outdoors. This allows us to take the specific requirements of each species into account right up to planting. Not every tree species is suited to every site. Based on the characteristics of the land and the objectives of the afforestation project, we help select the appropriate species and seedlings.
